The little 1x1 of intestinal cleansing: an expert explains

Veröffentlicht am: November 04, 2024

Intestinal complaints such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation or nausea are unfortunately no longer a rarity for many people - no wonder, because unhealthy fats, excessive sugar or highly processed foods are standard in our everyday diet. But it's not just what we eat that plays a significant role when it comes to our gut health, but also how we eat. We often eat quickly, on the side.

The result is often a disturbed intestinal flora, in which the balance of microorganisms is disturbed and the damaged intestine can hardly carry out its actual activity.

In line with our intestinal cleansing package, we spoke to naturopath and expert Adriane Jacoby about the process of intestinal cleansing and which important aspects need to be considered. Naturopath Adriane Jacoby

Adriane Jacoby is a naturopath and has been running her naturopathic practice in Langenargen since 2013. Her enthusiasm for holistic medicine has led her to naturopathy and thus to the large field of modern complementary medicine, within which she finely and individually adapts her treatment to her patients. Adriane Jacoby likes to take people by the hand and treats them with natural active ingredients to restore the basic order of body, mind and soul.

Ms. Jacoby, intestinal problems are unfortunately becoming more and more common. In your experience, who is particularly affected?

Basically, all age groups can be affected. In my practice I treat the most diverse forms.

Can you tell us a little more about the causes of bowel problems?

A major factor is our diet, which is unfortunately often very one-sided. Too many animal products are consumed and food is usually eaten quickly and hastily. This results in poor chewing and therefore suboptimal grinding of the food. This means that the food is not adequately prepared for the further digestion process. Stress also reduces digestive activity.

What types of bowel problems occur most frequently and how much do they affect the daily lives of those affected?

Many of my patients suffer from diarrhea, but severely restricted evacuation, i.e. constipation, is also often the case.

Those affected feel unwell, sluggish or stressed, as diarrhea can occur suddenly.

What happens if intestinal problems are not treated and why is it so important to balance your intestinal flora?

In the long term, nutrients are no longer optimally absorbed and deficiency symptoms can occur. Changes to the mucous membrane can also occur.

Intestinal health is immensely important, as it is also essential for general well-being. In addition, a strong intestinal flora can prevent serious illnesses.

How can an intestinal cleanse be carried out?

When cleansing the intestines, it is not only important to look at the intestines in isolation, but also at all organs involved in digestion. This includes the teeth (chewing), stomach, liver and gall bladder, pancreas, small and large intestine. I tend to be pragmatic and want to carry out intestinal cleansing in an uncomplicated and effective way. In addition, it sometimes makes sense to do a blood count in the practice before starting.

What natural treatment options or dietary supplements can be used for intestinal cleansing?

First of all, it is important to chew food well so that our digestive juices are relieved. Alkaline powders or alkaline minerals in capsule form ensure that the acidity in the stomach does not predominate or is balanced.

To ensure that the liver can produce enough bile acids, it is important to take a liver remedy such as artichoke milk thistle. The liver detoxifies toxins that have been released and uses bile acid to ensure good fat digestion, among other things.

Intestinal cleansing capsules are perfect for "cleaning up" the intestines so that subsequent colonization with high-quality probiotics makes sense.

What should I bear in mind when cleansing my gut? Do you have any tips?

It would be great if you can avoid meat and dairy products as much as possible. Excessive coffee and nicotine consumption should definitely be reduced or preferably stopped during this time. It is also important to consume good vegetable fats instead of animal fats and, of course, get plenty of sleep. A nice lavender liver compress can also be applied in the evening.

In what order should you proceed with a bowel cleanse? What does the bowel cleansing plan look like?

First of all, the body should be deacidified and the bacterial environment regulated with the help of alkaline powder or capsules. The best way to do this is to dissolve 1 teaspoon in warm water in the morning and 1 teaspoon in the evening and drink. If the alkalizing agent has a laxative effect on some people, barley grass powder could be used as an alternative. This should be taken in the same dosage as the alkalizing powder.

The second step would then be complete bowel cleansing. Intestinal cleansing capsules can be taken for this purpose.

The liver and pancreas should then be strengthened. This is important so that sufficient digestive juices can be produced to mix with the food. This ensures that it arrives well prepared in the intestine to be cleansed. Milk thistle and artichoke capsules are suitable for strengthening the liver and products with bitter cucumber are ideal for supporting the pancreas.

After 14 days, this preparation in terms of detoxification, milieu rehabilitation and organ strengthening is complete and the intestine can be colonized with valuable probiotics. This means that additional probiotics should be taken after 14 days and the intestinal cleanse lasts between 4 and 6 weeks.
