Cellulite, orange peel skin or dimples. Find out here how you can strengthen your connective tissue to keep it firm and elastic.

What is the role of connective tissue?

Connective tissue is the tissue that connects all types of tissue in the body. It acts as a true nutrient depot, water reservoir and also as protection for organs. This means that when we are well supplied with nutrients, our connective tissue is firm and elastic. With age, however, it loses tone and elasticity, causing the skin to become flabbier.

However, connective tissue weakness can occur earlier and is usually caused by a lack of exercise, poor diet or genetics. Such weakness is primarily a cosmetic problem. However, cellulite or varicose veins, for example, can increase the risk of certain diseases.

The 4 most common problems with connective tissue

1. cellulite

Cellulite is caused by an uneven structure of fat deposits under the skin. This is because the collagen fibers lose their elasticity over time and fewer new ones are formed overall. As a result, the connective tissue becomes weaker and the fat cells find less support. The fat cells are therefore distributed unevenly and the unpleasant dimples appear.

Cellulite occurs regardless of weight and is present in almost every woman. It is just differently pronounced and visible. In comparison, men hardly ever get cellulite because their connective tissue is built differently.

However, cellulite is not always just a cosmetic problem; in severe cases, the lymphatic system can sometimes be damaged.

2. edema

Edema refers to water retention in the tissue. They usually occur in the legs and are recognizable as swelling. To diagnose edema, press on the swollen area; if a visible dent remains, it is edema.

3. varicose veins

Varicose veins are enlarged veins in the legs. These can usually be recognized early on as small spider veins. Varicose veins are usually only a visual problem, but can also lead to inflammation of the veins, which in turn can cause damage to the blood vessel walls. The result? A greatly increased risk of thrombosis.

4. glued fasciae

Fascia tissue is a network-like and complex tissue system that envelops all organs, muscles, tendons and ligaments. However, if we move too little, they become less elastic and start to stick together. This leads to tension and pain in the affected areas.

Around 80% of all women have cellulite!

The 4 most common causes of weak connective tissue

  • Wrong eating habits with lots of animal proteins and refined sugar and too little to drink
  • Lack of exercise and constant sitting or standing
  • Acidosis due to waste products, environmental toxins and toxins, for example from alcohol and smoking
  • Ageing - elasticity naturally decreases with age

The solution?

This really helps your connective tissue!

There is no miracle cure for connective tissue disorders such as cellulite. What really helps, however, is a holistic approach. This consists of a balanced diet, sufficient exercise and natural nutrients such as collagen. This can effectively counteract cellulite and the like.

1. COLLAGES

  • Improves the elasticity and strength of the skin
  • Important for strong but flexible connective tissue
  • Supports the treatment of cellulite and stretch marks

In a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study, the efficacy of collagen compared to placebo in the treatment of cellulite in normal and overweight women was investigated.

The results were evaluated after the study period of over 6 months. In women of normal weight, the degree of cellulite was significantly reduced by 9%. In the overweight women, an improvement of 4% was achieved, albeit less pronounced. The results of the study show that a regular intake of collagen leads to a significant improvement in the appearance of cellulite.

2. ALKALINE DIET

A combination of a high-fat and high-carbohydrate diet has a particularly negative effect on our connective tissue, as it leads to enlarged fat cells and thus promotes cellulite. An alkaline diet is better, as it dehydrates and strengthens the connective tissue. The body should also be deacidified to get rid of waste products, toxins and other toxins.

3. MOVEMENT

It is important to exercise regularly, as this directly strengthens the connective tissue, melts the fat cells and makes the skin look smoother overall.

4. MASSAGE

With the help of brushes or fascia rollers, the tissue remains soft and supple, the lymphatic system is activated and adhesions in the fascia are loosened.

Conclusion:

Our connective tissue performs important functions in the body. However, due to various causes, it loses elasticity and moisture over time. The result? Connective tissue disorders. Cellulite is probably the best known form.
