Anyone who regularly takes vitamin D as a dietary supplement should also make sure they have a sufficient supply of vitamin K2. This vitamin has the important task of calcium to the right places in the body transport - especially to bones and teeth. In addition vitamin K2 prevents calcificationin places where this can be harmful, such as in the arteries and other soft tissues of the body.
When vitamin D is absorbed, the body produces more proteins that transport calcium and are dependent on vitamin K2. These proteins have many health benefits, but unfortunately they cannot be activated until sufficient vitamin K2 is present.
It is therefore easy to understand why supplementing with vitamin D3 also increases the need for vitamin K2. The high-quality set from Herbano, which consists of vitamin D3 drops and vitamin K2 capsules, supports the balanced absorption of both vitamins and is therefore highly recommended.
Vitamin D, also known as cholecalciferol, is one of the fat-soluble vitamins. fat-soluble vitamins. It is not actually a vitamin in the classic sense, but is one of the hormones as the body is able to produce it itself when exposed to sunlight under favorable conditions. Vitamin D therefore also has the beautiful name, the "sun vitamin"..
To strengthen the immune system especially in the fall and winter months, the human body needs sufficient vitamin D. However, the sun vitamin is not only important for good defenses but also performs many other important functions in our organism:
➤ Did you know that the skin's own production of vitamin D actually decreases 4-fold with age compared to young people?
For the body's own production of vitamin D3, the body is dependent on UV light dependent. A deficiency can therefore be caused primarily by too little sunlight, but also by certain diseases can also be the cause.
There is an increased risk of vitamin D deficiency among others:
➤ Did you know that every second person in Austria suffers from a vitamin D deficiency?
Certain signs and symptoms may indicate a vitamin D deficiency. However, the signs of a minor deficiency are very unspecific and can also have other causes.
The following symptoms can occur with a vitamin D deficiency:
However, these symptoms usually only occur when a severe deficiency is already present. In this case, the deficiency can no longer be compensated for by sunlight and diet alone without an additional intake of vitamin D.
Just like vitamins A, D and E, vitamin K is one of the fat-soluble vitamins. K vitamins are absorbed in the intestine and transported via the blood to the liver, where they perform their most important task, the production of blood clotting factors, fulfill. The "K" in vitamin K refers to the word "coagulation", and it refers to the clotting of proteins. Without this process, bleeding would not stop in the event of an injury. However, coagulation forms a layer that effectively stops the bleeding.
The most important task of vitamin K2 is blood clotting. Without vitamin K, the body would not be able to stop bleeding.
But the vitamin also has other important effects:
➤ Vitamin K is particularly important for blood clotting, but also plays a major role in bone health.
A vitamin K deficiency occurs when not enough vitamin K is ingested or absorbed from food. is absorbed. Vitamin K1 is found in green vegetables such as spinach and broccoli, but vitamin K2 is more abundant in animal products such as eggs, cheese, yogurt and liver. A vitamin K2 deficiency is therefore less often caused by nutritional deficiencies, but more often by chronic diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Also the prolonged intake of antibiotics can also be a reason for a vitamin K deficiency.
The most common symptoms of a vitamin K2 deficiency include
➤ In adults, a vitamin K deficiency is more likely to lead to problems in the longer term, whereas newborn babies need to be much more careful, as they can suffer serious damage relatively quickly as a result of the deficiency.
Taking vitamin D3 and K2 in appropriate doses is generally well tolerated and has few side effects. Occasionally, however, gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting or diarrhea may occur. However, excessive intake can result in high blood calcium levels, which can lead to symptoms such as tiredness, weakness, constipation, kidney stones or heart problems. It is therefore important not to exceed the recommended dosage and to consult your doctor or alternative practitioner if you have any concerns.
Recommended intake of vitamin D3 drops:
As a dietary supplement, take 1 drop (5000 IU) per day, or as recommended by your therapist.
To take, close the vial tightly and shake. Then drip the preparation directly onto the tongue using the pipette. Alternatively, you can also take the drops with a spoon or add them to food (e.g. on a piece of bread).
Recommended intake of vitamin K2-MK7 capsules:
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet.Store in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep out of the reach of small children.

The combination of vitamin D3 and K2 has a synergistic effect. Vitamin D3 increases the body's calcium content and vitamin K2-MK7 transfers this to the bones.
In general, vitamin K2 is considered safe and has no side effects. As a fat-soluble vitamin, it can deprive the body of antioxidants and impair blood sugar regulation and hormonal health if the dosage is too high. Therefore, always adhere to the prescribed dosage.
Vitamin D3 drops are generally very well tolerated. Too much vitamin D3 can lead to hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels), nausea, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps and vomiting. In very severe cases, excessive vitamin D3 levels can even lead to kidney failure and cardiac arrhythmia.
Before taking vitamin D3, do a test or talk to your doctor or alternative practitioner. Also adhere to the prescribed maximum dosage.
