Acidosis of the body describes an "acidic" state of the bodyin which the acid-base balance is out of balance. In the long term, this can lead to numerous complaints and illnesses, such as organic diseases or chronic pain. Obesity, muscle pain, hair loss, bad breath, heartburn and headaches are also known signs of acidosis. However, these symptoms are very unspecific and it is difficult to attribute them to hyperacidity without further information.
The easiest way to check the acid-base balance is to use pH test strips test strips. This is actually one of the most effective methods to diagnose acidosis. This is because the pH value provides information about how acidic or alkaline something is. This value is generally measured on a scale from 1 to 14 indicated. Values between 1 and 7 indicate an "acidic" state, and values between 7 and 14 indicate an alkaline state - the value is neutral at 7. The optimum pH value for urine varies throughout the day and is generally between 5 and 8.
To determine the pH value, simply hold the test strip briefly in a urine sample or in a urine sample or directly under the urine stream. Then compare the color the color of the test field on the pH test strip with the color scale on the inside of the instruction booklet. This should be done within one minute of taking the urine sample. Now find the color that comes closest to the discoloration on the test strip - this is your pH value.
As the ideal pH value of the urine varies throughout the day, 7 urine samples are taken in one day. It is normal for the value to be low and acidic in the morning and slightly higher and more alkaline in the evening.
This is how you should test:
Now compare your your previously noted values with the following list of an ideal acid-base balance of urine:
If the measurements of the pH value of the urine are always below below the specified values, you can assume that the body is over-acidified.
To counteract hyperacidity, a predominantly alkaline diet is recommended. This means avoiding fast food, sweets, alcohol, coffee and meat, and at the same time eating more fruit, water, potatoes, root and leafy vegetables. In addition, deacidification can be accelerated by taking alkaline capsules or powder. In this way, you can provide your body with sufficient quantities of alkaline foods in a relatively safe way.
Briefly dip the test strip into the urine sample or hold it under the urine stream. Then compare the color of the wet test field with the color scale on the inside of the booklet within 1 minute. The pH value can be read where the color of the scale comes closest to the color of the test strip.
Each test strip is to be used only once (not for reuse).
For people with known color weakness, the color scale must be read by a third, color-skilled person.
The test strips must not be swallowed or ingested.
The test strips are made of impregnated cotton paper and can be disposed of in the toilet after use.
